Country Comforts

This weekend was spent back home with family and friends; a weekend out of Sydney.

I love going home and the country comforts that my mother creates, so effortlessly, make me feel so at home. When Love and I walked through the door, the aromas of Mum's cooking hit me immediately: chicken on rosemary skewers with citrus infused couscous, bacon and butter Brussels sprouts, pumpkin and pine nut cannelloni, finished with my Mum's famous lemon meringue pie. Delicious and so familiar.

I love strong design and strong modern lines, but I immediately fall in love the country comfort feel that my mother creates throughout the home when I walk through the door.  White, simple country accents against the warmth of distressed timber.  Everything placed with such love and care... truly home sweet home.
